Luna’s howl quest steps

Luna’s Howl is a legendary hand cannon. It can be dismantled to generate Glimmer, Gunsmith Materials, Legendary Shards, and Enhancement Cores.

Luna’s Howl is already a legendary weapon in Destiny history, not only for its lore (seriously, read it) but also for its place as one of the game’s most original weapons and its former dominance in the game. the Crucible in front of a nerve.

But it’s still pretty good, and if you’ve just entered the game now, you may want to continue in a particular season. As such, I’ve compiled all of the quest steps so you know what you’re getting into.

Pinnacle quests these days are a bit simpler with fewer steps, and Luna is more involved. Here’s what you’ll need to do to get it.

The only part of this quest that’s retroactive is hitting fabled. It can be done at any point.

The Luna’s Howl Quest is the only way to obtain the Luna’s Howl hand cannon. The majority of this quest requires you to play the Competitive playlist. To make things as easy as possible, we have compiled the Luna’s Howl quest steps below.

Step 1: Complete 10 Competitive Matches

It’s just over, not winning, so no pressure here. But you might want to get a head start on getting your glory now for one of the final stages of the quest later.

Step 2: Get 150 hand cannon kills in Competitive matches

Up to you which gun you want to use to pursue this, as there are countless good hand cannons for Crucible these days. Top picks include legendaries like Service Revolver, Trust and Austringer, or exotics like The Last Word, Thorn, Malfeasance, and Ace of Spades, many of which weren’t even around when this quest first started.

Step 3: Get 200 solar kills in Competitive matches

This may seem random, but Luna’s is a solar weapon, so it does make sense. These do not have to be hand cannon kills, just any solar kills which count both abilities and weapons. Jotunn is a pretty solid exotic pick for easy one-shot solar kills. For a solar primary, you can use it more often, try Polar Lance or Trust.

Stage 4: Complete 3 rumble matches

I’m not sure exactly why this quest exists, but you can complete it in under 30 minutes. It doesn’t matter where you place it.

Step 5: Get 100 precision hand cannon shots in competition

Similar to step 2, but this time they must be precision eliminations. Since probably over half of your hand cannon shots will be accurate anyway, that’s not really that big of a deal. Keep killing.

Step 6: Go to the Fabled in the Glory playlist

And here is the hardest part for most people. Fabled means you need 2100 points in any given season of Competitive and yes it’s a playlist where you lose points for a loss.

So that’s the real grind unless you’re some kind of PvP pro. And if so, chances are you already had Luna a long time ago and you don’t need this guide. Pick the load you are most comfortable with, no more need for specific weapons, and start grinding.

Step 7: Get Luna from Shaxx

And There you go. It’s a long process, but the only really hard part will be the climb to Fabled. Hope you will be able to do this and experience such a cool hand cannon that it even feels great to use on consoles. Good luck.

How to get the Luna’s Howl

To get Luna’s Howl, you need to visit Shaxx in the tower and collect the Shock and Denial quest, then complete the following steps:

  • Finish 10 matches in the Competitive playlist. You don’t have to win, losses still count.
  • Get 150 Hand Cannon kills in Competitive matches.
  • Get 200 Solar kills in competitive matches. These don’t have to be Hand Cannon kills.
  • Complete 3 Rumble matches. Once again, you don’t have to win.
  • Reach the rank of Fabled in the Glory (Competitive) playlist.

When all that is complete, you can return to Shaxx and collect the Luna’s Howl. Now you can get to work on the next part of the process, getting the Not Forgotten.

How to get the Not Forgotten

Once again, you need to visit Shaxx and pick up the new quest that he will have for you, then complete the following steps:

  • Kill 500 Guardians with Luna’s Howl in the Competitive playlist.
  • Reach the rank of Legend in the Competitive playlist.

The difference between Luna’s Howl and Not Forgotten comes down to some small, but interesting factors. Luna’s Howl has better stability, but Not Forgotten has better range. Not Forgotten’s Magnificent Howl perk will also give you increased damage when you score two headshots on a target, regardless of where the next shot lands.

Getting either weapon is all about embracing some grind, and how solid your aim is in PvP. The real sticking point with be the Fabled and Legend rank that you need to get, and that is where most people will run into trouble. You will either be good enough to get them, or you won’t. If not, find a solid Fireteam and ask them politely to carry you to glory.

I’ve been solo queuing and man…it’s rough. Nothing more disheartening then losing continuous points.

I like games like the Ninja Gaiden series for the difficulty but man Soloing competitive is the absolute worst for me and I mean the worst (Yes i completed Master Ninja on both Xbox and PS4). It’s ridiculous fam . I was at 650 Brave and now i am 460 just trying to get the 150 hand cannon kills. Freinds, I saw my blood pressure going up, my attitude changing. I was becoming a person I did not like. Snapping at any and everyone.

However, I do believe i can learn from this and come out a better person in the end. It builds character and patience in an individual who constantly get’s wrecked by a team who solely play comp don’t work or do anything else lol.

Now i bet you asked? Why bother? Why do you insist on continuing Mr. Anderson? Why , Why, Why?

I look myself in mirror and recite. Because i believe. I believe I can do this no matter what, and I believe that i will achieve this by myself like everything else I’ve achieved in life.

Friends, I simple believe I can get this hand cannon.

So chin up bub. Go in have fun celebrate your wins, accept your loses and take breaks and come back a next day into the pit, into the grind.

The Luna’s Howl Quest Steps

The Not Forgotten is an extremely rare Hand Cannon in Destiny 2. This is because to obtain it, you need to take on the best of the best in PvP. First, you need to get a weapon called the Luna’s Howl, and only then will you be able to grind for the Not Forgotten.

  • Precision Frame: Intrinsic Perk. The recoil pattern is predictably vertical. Fires quickly with high accuracy.
  • Polygonal Rifling: Reduced recoil barrel, increases stability.
  • Drop Mag: Magazine drops when reloading which wastes ammo, but increases reload speed.
  • Zen Moment: Causing damage increases stability.
  • Magnificent Howl: Rapidly landing two precision shots grants a short period of bonus damage until the next kill or miss.

SHOCK AND DENIAL

You need to complete 10 Crucible matches in the Competitive playlist. Even if you lose a match you’ll get credit for completion.

PAIN AND GUILT

You’ll have to get final blow kills with a hand cannon in the Competitive playlist. This means that the killing shot should come from your hand cannon, assists do not count.

ANGER AND BARGAINING

Again in the Competitive playlist, you’ll have to get Solar final blows. This can be from your Solar subclass or weapons. You will need to get 200 kills.

DEPRESSION AND LONELINESS

Complete 3 Rumble matches.

THE UPWARD TURN

This is the same as the Pain and Guilt step, but now you’ll need to get precision final blows.

RECONSTRUCTION

Reach the Fabled Glory rank. (1. Guardian, 2. Brave, 3. Heroic, 4. Fabled (2100 Glory points in the Competitive playlist), 5. Mythic, 6. Legend)

ACCEPTANCE

Go to Lord Shaxx at the Tower to get the Legendary hand cannon, Luna’s Howl.

Conclusion: Luna’s howl quest steps

Luna’s Howl is excellent for stopping enemy invaders, since you can activate the perk from hitting ads, then aim at the invader and kill them in 2-3 shots. Of course its still great for invading, but when invading you don’t have ads to shoot for absolute free headshots and perk activation.

It was good on console pre-nerf because it had the best TTK among handcannons that didn’t have to deal with bloom. It still doesn’t have to deal with bloom, and while the TTK is not as good, it’s still better than the rest of 180s. So it’s still good.

That being said, around 0.16% of all players that have played D2 have Not forgotten, and about 2.5% have luna’s howl.

To get your hands on Luna’s Howl, you must have completed Pain and Guilt. It’s a Crucible mission that’s part of the Remembrance story given to you by Shaxx. Fortunately, it comes with a pretty simple objective. You’ve got to achieve 150 hand cannon kills during Crucible battles in the competitive playlist.

Lunas Howl Quest Steps should not stop you from getting it

From all of the above comes a simple conclusion. Very roughly it’s going to take you around 12-15 hours in the game to finish the quest.
