Another week of Fortnite challenges is here and it’s a good one. In Season 8, Week 8, we have a wide variety of challenge types, ranging from your typical damage dealt challenges to more interesting tasks that let you explore the map.
One of these challenges is a two-step challenge. The first step requires players to search for a treasure map panel in Paradise Palms. This is a clean twist on an old challenge format.
We used to have treasure map challenges all the time, but Epic apparently cut them off a few seasons ago.
We now have a two-step treasure map challenge. First, you’ll need to find the sign with the map itself, then you’ll need to follow that map to where X marks the spot. It’s important to note that this is a free challenge, which means you don’t need to have purchased the Battle Pass to complete it.
Either way, this is the guide for step 1. You can find the treasure map panel in Paradise Palms by taking a look at the map below:
As you can see, the signpost is located in an alley in the center of Paradise Palms. When I found it, the map itself appeared blank (see the picture at the top of this post). The map doesn’t appear until the challenges go live. This is a cool twist on older treasure map challenges.

Specifically, you want to go to the centre of the named location, where there is a series of black-roofed buildings just to the east of the main road running through the town. Once you’ve landed, look east. On the wall below, you’ll see the blank Paradise Palms Treasure Map signpost.
Now that the challenges are live, simply interact with the treasure map signpost to make the map appear. Note: Tons of people will be here so it will be very dangerous. On the other hand, it’s a great opportunity to get some damage with a pickaxe!
Where to find the Fortnite Paradise Palms Treasure Map signpost
First, you need to pay a visit to Paradise Palms. Specifically, you want to go to the center of the named location, where there is a series of black-roofed buildings just to the east of the main road running through the town.
Find the building with the upside-down L-shaped block:
Once you have the map, you can head out to search for the treasure and the Battle Star. The Paradise Palms Treasure Map location shows a long line with a radar tower. This points to Frosty Flights, the named location of the far south-west of the map, in the game’s frozen region.
Specifically, you’ll want to go to the end of the runway, on the west side, nearest the cliff’s edge.
First, you don’t have to worry about whether or not this needs to be completed in one match – in fact, you need two since the second step will activate once the end of the match you find the signpost is completed.
Then, you need to go to the location that appears on the Treasure Map. Unlike Fortnite Treasure Map locations.

This is only the first step of a two-part challenge. To complete this first leg, head to Paradise Palms and head through the lanes in the center of the location.
Here you can find the panel placed against a wall. The sign itself cannot be destroyed, so don’t worry about other players trying to upset you.
Once you’ve interacted with the panel, you’ll complete the first stage of this challenge and be able to look at a hand-drawn map depicting another location on Fortnite Island.
